AUSTER 6A

The AUSTER 6A Tugmaster is a civil variant derived from the Auster AOP.6, a British military air observation aircraft introduced in 1945. The AOP.6 was developed by Auster Aircraft Limited to replace earlier wartime aircraft, which trace their roots back to the Taylorcraft Auster line. The manufacturer associated with this particular model, Taylorcraft – Robert J Kuhlow, is connected to this lineage, often involving the conversion or management of these classic airframes for civilian use, such as glider towing.

Access solutions are available for detailed maintenance across this aircraft. The Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Super Maintenance Platform provide necessary height access for the Nose Section (including the Windshield & Cockpit and Bulkhead) and the Wing & Engine Pylon (allowing access to the Engine and Hydraulics). The Ultraraise and Easyraise support methodical inspection of the Landing Gear (both NLG and MLG) and the Forward Fuselage (specifically the Forward Wheel Well Access). The Bridge Deck and Cantilever Platform are effective for reaching the Middle Fuselage / Wing Box Area (including the Wing Box and Fuel Tanks) and the Tail Section (Empennage), ensuring all control surfaces like the Vertical Stabiliser and Rudder can be reached. The Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley provides foundational safety support.
