ATR 72-212

The ATR 72 is a foundational regional turboprop airliner that entered service in 1989. Derived from the earlier ATR 42, the 72-212 variant features a stretched fuselage, increasing passenger capacity from 48 to 66 seats. It is widely utilized for short-haul regional routes globally due to its efficiency and operational capabilities.

The aircraft is often associated with its final manufacturer, Airbus Helicopters, which is the helicopter division of the multinational aerospace corporation Airbus. The history of the ATR aircraft family, however, traces back to Avions de Transport Régional (ATR), a joint venture initially formed by Aérospatiale of France (now part of Airbus) and Aeritalia of Italy (now Leonardo S.p.A.). While Airbus Helicopters specializes in rotary-wing aircraft, the company’s lineage and corporate structure connect it to the fixed-wing manufacturing efforts that produced the ATR 72 line.

Access solutions are indispensable for methodical maintenance across various aircraft sections. The equipment assists in reaching critical areas like the Nose Section (radome, avionics), the Forward Fuselage (main entry door, lighting systems, and environmental control system), and the Landing Gear (Nose and Main). Elevated stands support work around the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area (fuel tanks and oil maintenance) and the Wing & Engine Pylon (engine components, hydraulics, and fuel pumps). Specialized platforms also facilitate access to the AFT Fuselage and the entire Tail Section, including the vertical and horizontal stabilizers, and the APU compartment.
