AT-6D

The North American Aviation AT-6D, famously known as the Texan, is an iconic all-metal single-engine trainer aircraft. It served as a foundational training platform for pilots across the United States Army Air Forces, the US Navy (where it was known as the SNJ), the Royal Air Force, and other air forces from the 1930s through the 1950s. The AT-6D variant was used extensively throughout World War II. Its service life was exceptionally long, with the aircraft seeing its last military service with the South African Air Force in 1995.

North American Aviation manufactured over 15,000 units of the T-6 family. This pioneering American company was indispensable to the nation’s military aviation during the 20th century.

Specialized access solutions—including the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Super Trestle Scaffold—are necessary for comprehensive maintenance of the aircraft. These platforms facilitate access to key areas such as the Wing & Engine Pylon for detailed inspections of the Engine Body and components like the Fan, Compressor, and Turbine. They also enable methodical work on the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit) and the Landing Gear (Main Landing Gear). Additionally, specialized equipment supports service requirements for the AFT Fuselage (AFT Bulkhead) and the Tail Section (Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers).
