AT-402A

The AT-402A is a foundational agricultural monoplane manufactured by AIR Tractor, a company established by Leland Snow. Snow’s history in agricultural aircraft design dates back to the 1950s, leading to the formation of AIR Tractor in 1978. By 1981, the company recognized the advantages of turbine power in the agricultural sector, leading to the development of the AT-400 series. The AT-402A is recognized as a low-cost version of the earlier AT-401B, powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-20 engine, with over 100 units built.

A selection of access platforms and solutions facilitates thorough and efficient maintenance across the AT-402A.

Platforms such as the Reach Deck Platform and Cantilever Platform offer specialized access to the Wing & Engine Pylon section, specifically for Engine, propeller, and anti-ice system maintenance. The Cantilever design is especially effective for reaching tight areas over the wings and engine inlets/exhausts.

General maintenance tasks for the fuselage, including the Nose Section (windshield and cockpit) and the Forward Fuselage (cargo access, lighting systems), benefit from height access solutions like Modular Stepover Platforms and Platform Ladder Warthog. The Super Trestle Scaffold and Ultraraise platforms provide broad, safe access for work around the Middle and AFT Fuselage, supporting structural inspection and avionics checks. Specialized units like the Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley support aircraft stability during maintenance and streamline tool organization. These sturdy and flexible access solutions ensure detailed and efficient servicing for this critical agricultural aircraft.
