AT-401B

The AT-401B is a dedicated agricultural aircraft manufactured by AIR Tractor, a company founded by Leland Snow in 1978. Building upon Snow’s decades of experience designing agricultural aircraft, AIR Tractor has become a leading name in the aerial application industry. The AT-400 series, which the AT-401B belongs to, originated with the AT-400 model taking its first flight in September 1979. This family of aircraft is characterized by its low-wing monoplane taildragger configuration and a large chemical hopper positioned between the engine firewall and the cockpit, making it an effective workhorse for crop dusting and spraying.

Maintenance and inspection across the AT-401B require specialized height access solutions. Platforms and access stands are essential for detailed, methodical maintenance across various sections. For the Nose Section, access is vital for the radome, antenna, and windshield/cockpit area. Forward fuselage maintenance, including entry doors and environmental control systems, also relies on dependable access equipment.

Solutions such as reach deck platforms, modular stepover platforms, trestle scaffolds, and super maintenance platforms facilitate access to key structural areas. This equipment supports critical work on the Landing Gear, Wing Box, and the engine pylon, including components like the engine inlet/exhaust, fan, and compressor. The tail section (empennage), covering the vertical and horizontal stabilizers, also demands secure elevated access to ensure the aircraft remains operational and safe.
