The AS.365N2 is a medium-sized utility helicopter manufactured by Airbus Helicopters, formerly part of the Eurocopter Group. Its production line traces back to the Aérospatiale SA 365 Dauphin 2, which entered service in 1975. The AS.365N2 variant, powered by two Turboméca Arriel 1C2 turboshafts, began deliveries in 1990.
The manufacturer’s lineage involves several key mergers. Originally developed by SNIAS (Société Nationale Industrielle Aérospatiale), the company began operating as Aérospatiale in 1984. In January 1992, the helicopter divisions of France’s Aérospatiale and Germany’s MBB merged to create the Eurocopter Group, which later became Airbus Helicopters. The Dauphin line had continuous production for over four decades.
Maintenance and inspection across the AS.365N2 require varied access solutions. Access platforms support thorough maintenance in key aircraft sections. For the Nose Section, access solutions address the radome, antenna, nose avionics, windshield, cockpit, and bulkhead. Platforms also facilitate work on the Forward Fuselage areas, including the main entry door (MED), cargo/baggage, lighting systems, cabin access, environmental control system (ECS), and forward wheel well access.
Specialized stands enable maintenance on the Landing Gear, addressing both the nose landing gear (NLG) and main landing gear (MLG). Platforms support access to the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box area for inspecting the wing box, fuel tanks, oil maintenance points, cabin interior, Wi-Fi systems, and emergency exits. For the Wing & Engine Pylon, technicians use platforms for the pylon, anti-ice systems, engine components (inlet, exhaust, body, flap, fan, compressor, turbine), FADEC/EEC, hydraulics, fuel systems, undercowl, and the armpit area. Access solutions also serve the AFT Fuselage (bulkhead, cargo, cabin doors, auxiliary fuel, ducting, rear avionics, APU compartments) and the Tail Section (APU intake, generator, compressor, exhaust port, vertical and horizontal stabilisers, and rudder).
