AS.355F1

The AS.355F1, also known as the Écureuil 2 or Twin Squirrel, is a twin-engine light utility helicopter designed to carry one pilot and up to five passengers. It is a derivative of the AS350 platform, recognized for its reliability. The AS.355F1 is typically powered by two Rolls-Royce (Allison) model 250-C20F turboshaft engines.

Manufacturing of the Écureuil 2 traces its lineage through a series of European aerospace companies, starting with Aérospatiale in France. The aircraft first flew in 1979. Over time, the manufacturer evolved, becoming Eurocopter, and is currently known as Airbus Helicopters. The North American subsidiary, Airbus Helicopters, Inc., was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in Grand Prairie, Texas.

A range of platforms and access solutions are available for this aircraft to assist with maintenance needs across various sections. For the nose section and forward fuselage, access platforms facilitate work on the radome, antennas, cockpit, and cabin entry areas.

For the landing gear, maintenance access is provided for both the Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear. These access systems, including platforms, stepover units, and maintenance stands, ensure personnel can reach all critical inspection and service areas.
