The AN-2TP, a variant of the foundational An-2 utility biplane, is renowned for its versatility and sturdy design. This single-engine aircraft serves diverse functions, often used for passenger transport and cargo. Its design allows for short takeoffs and landings, making it ideal for operating from unpaved airstrips and challenging environments.
Manufacturing of the An-2 was licensed to Wytwornia Sprzetu KOMUNIKACYJNEGO – MIELEC, known today as PZL Mielec. The aviation industry in Mielec began in 1938 with the establishment of State Aviation Works – Airframe Factory No. 2. After wartime operations and post-war production of various items, the plant was renamed in 1949 and began licensed production of military jets. Licensed production of the An-2 utility aircraft began in Mielec starting in 1960. The factory’s lineage includes producing aircraft like the M-18 Dromader agricultural plane. Today, the facility continues its heritage under new ownership, having produced over 15,700 aircraft historically.
The range of access platforms and stands available supports detailed and methodical maintenance across critical sections of this aircraft. These solutions facilitate efficient work on the Wing & Engine Pylon, including the engine itself and surrounding components like anti-ice systems and fuel tanks/pumps. They also provide reliable access to the Nose Section for work on avionics and the cockpit, and the Tail Section for maintenance of the stabilisers and rudder. Modular platforms and stands ensure superior access for all general inspections and maintenance tasks across the fuselage.
