AH-1Z

The AH-1Z Viper is a modernized attack helicopter developed by Bell. It originated from the H-1 upgrade program for the United States Marine Corps, with its first flight occurring in December 2000 and subsequent introduction into service. The primary goal of the AH-1Z was to create a platform with enhanced survivability, improved avionics, and greater versatility, making it capable of close-air support, anti-armor, and aerial reconnaissance missions.

The company, founded by Lawrence Dale Bell in 1935, is renowned for pioneering helicopter design, from early commercial models to groundbreaking military aircraft, including the lineage that led to the AH-1Z.
