AB 47 G3B

The AB 47 G3B is a light three-seat helicopter, produced under license from the original Bell 47G3B-1 design. It was developed in the early 1960s to offer improved performance, particularly at high altitudes and temperatures, compared to non-supercharged variants. The AB 47 G3B is known for its durability and reliability, characteristics that established the Bell 47 line as the first helicopter certified for civilian use in 1946.

Manufacturing history is tied to Leonardo, a global industrial company that represents a foundational element of Italy’s aerospace industry. While Leonardo today operates across various high-tech sectors, its helicopter lineage includes a history of licensed production of successful designs like the AB 47 G3B.

A range of platforms and access solutions—including Reach Deck Platforms, Modular Stepover Platforms, heavy-duty Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, and Easyraise—are indispensable for detailed maintenance on this aircraft. These solutions provide elevation for servicing critical areas. Access is required for the Nose Section (radome, avionics, cockpit), the Forward Fuselage (cabin access and lighting systems), the Landing Gear, and the Wing & Engine Pylon area for comprehensive engine checks (inlet, exhaust, fan, compressor, turbine). These products also support access to the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section components (vertical and horizontal stabilizers).
