A320/A321

The Airbus A320 and A321 are members of the Airbus A320 family of short-to-medium-range, narrow-body, commercial passenger twin-engine jet airliners. The A320 was the first airliner to feature a fully digital fly-by-wire flight control system.

The manufacturer, Airbus, is a major European aerospace corporation founded in 1970 as a consortium of aerospace manufacturers. Airbus is known for its wide range of commercial aircraft, military planes, and helicopters.

The A320 family’s history began with the A320’s entry into service in 1988, followed by the longer A321 variant in 1994. These aircraft were designed to compete with the Boeing 737. The A320neo (new engine option) family, launched in 2010, introduced more fuel-efficient engines and improved aerodynamics, further extending the family’s lifespan and popularity.

The A320/A321 are ubiquitous in the aviation world, used by hundreds of airlines globally for domestic and regional routes. They are commonly found in major international hubs across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, serving as the workhorse for many low-cost carriers and full-service airlines alike due to their efficiency, reliability, and commonality in design across the family.
