The Cessna A188B/A2, part of the widely recognized Cessna 188 series, served principally in agricultural roles. The A188 family was known by various names such as the AGwagon, AGtruck, and AGhusky, with the A188A AGwagon “B” being certified in 1969. The manufacturer, Cessna, has a paramount history in aviation, known as one of the “Big Three” aircraft manufacturers following World War II, alongside Piper and Beechcraft. Their lineage includes highly successful designs like the Cessna 172, the most-produced airplane in history.
A range of platforms and access solutions are available to support methodical maintenance for the A188B/A2.
The Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Super Trestle Scaffold are first-class solutions for general access across the fuselage (AF-BF) and for reaching the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area, which includes fuel tanks and the wing box. These elevated platforms, alongside Cantilever Platforms, are equally suited for engine maintenance on the Wing & Engine Pylon sections, addressing components like the engine body, flaps, and hydraulics.
For the Nose Section, including the windshield and cockpit, Platform Ladder Warthog and A Frame Aviation Platform provide necessary access. The Ultraraise and Super Service Stand offer sturdy and versatile access for the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG) and the Forward Fuselage, helping with wheel well access and lighting systems. The Bridge Deck is instrumental for spanning obstructions to service the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section (Empennage), ensuring all stabilisers and rudder components can be reached efficiently. For mobility, the Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley ensures organization and safety on the ramp.
