A188/A1

The A188/A1 is a model within the Cessna 188 series, a line of agricultural aircraft known as the AgWagon, AgTruck, and AgHusky. These aircraft were designed specifically for aerial application and crop dusting. The original Cessna 188 first flew in 1965, entering production shortly after. The series is characterized by its high-wing monoplane design and sturdy construction, which proved ideal for the demanding work of agricultural aviation.

Cessna, the manufacturer, is a foundational American aerospace company. Clyde Cessna established the company in 1927 in Wichita, Kansas, building on his earlier aviation experiments. Cessna became world-renowned for producing light, reliable, and generally high-wing aircraft, notably the Cessna 172 Skyhawk, which remains the best-selling and most-produced aircraft model in history. The company’s focus shifted over the decades, expanding into business jets and military trainers, but its legacy is rooted in reliable general aviation aircraft like the A188/A1.
