The Aero Commander 685, also known as the Rockwell Commander 685, is a pressurized, light-twin piston-engined aircraft. Manufacturing began under Aero Commander, a division of Rockwell International. Introduced in 1971, the 685 was an upgraded variant, featuring a high-wing cantilever monoplane design and an enclosed cabin that could seat up to nine. Production of this model was limited, with 66 aircraft built before it was retired in 1976.
A suite of access solutions supports maintenance for this aircraft. Platforms such as the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, Super Maintenance Platform, Branach Fibreglass Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog address maintenance needs across the airframe.
For the Nose Section (including Radome, Antenna, Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, and Bulkhead) and the Forward Fuselage, platforms offer access to the Main Entry Door (MED), Cargo/Baggage areas, Lighting Systems, Cabin Access, Environmental Control System (ECS), and Forward Wheel Well Access. Landing Gear maintenance (both Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear) is effectively addressed by these solutions.
Mid-section access is facilitated for the Middle Fuselage / Wing Box Area, including inspection of the Wing Box, Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance, Cabin Interior, Wi-Fi systems, and Emergency Exit areas. Maintenance on the Wing & Engine Pylon section—including the Engine (Inlet/Exhaust), Engine Body, Hydraulics, and Fuel Tanks/Pumps—is supported by the range of stands. Finally, the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section (Empennage), encompassing the APU components, Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, and Rudder, also benefit from these specialized access systems. An Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley is also available for general support.
