680-E

The 680-E is a piston-engine business aircraft built by Aero Commander, a company with a long history in utility and business aviation. Aero Commander began in 1944, pioneering twin-engine aircraft design. The company later became part of Rockwell-Standard and North American Rockwell, producing a variety of popular models.

The 680-E was part of the distinguished Commander series, known for its high wing design and executive transport capabilities. It served a crucial role, including in government service, with the U.S. Air Force selecting the 680E as a transport aircraft for President Dwight Eisenhower. Designated L-26C-AD and later U-4B, its deployment showcased the aircraft’s reliability and performance. The U.S. Army also used the airplane under the designation U-9C.

Various access solutions are available for this aircraft. Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Ultraraise systems allow technicians access to critical areas. These solutions address access or maintenance needs for sections such as the Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, Cargo/Baggage areas, and Forward Wheel Well Access.

Specialized stands and platforms, including Super Service Stand, Easyraise, and Cantilever Platform, facilitate maintenance of the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area components (Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance), and the Wing & Engine Pylon sections. For the Tail Section (Empennage), including the Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers, high-level platforms ensure thorough and detailed maintenance. The use of A Frame Aviation Platform and Platform Ladder Warthog further supports general aircraft access requirements.
