The Cessna 650, commonly known as the Citation III, is a mid-sized, long-range corporate jet designed for high-speed travel, achieving cruising speeds of Mach .83 and a range of 2,000 miles. It was the first of the Model 650 series, introducing a new design built around a swept, super-critical wing to optimize high-speed, long-range flight. Manufactured by Cessna between 1982 and 1991, the Citation III laid the groundwork for the subsequent Citation VI and Citation VII aircraft.
Cessna, the manufacturer, has been a leading force in general aviation since Clyde Cessna built his first aircraft in 1911 and established the company in 1927 in Wichita, Kansas. It is recognized globally for producing some of the world’s most popular and long-lasting aircraft, including the foundational Citation business jet family.
A variety of platforms and access solutions are available for detailed maintenance on the 650. Products such as Reach Deck Platforms, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, and Easyraise provide access for work on the Nose Section (including the Windshield & Cockpit and Bulkhead), the Forward Fuselage (such as Cabin Access and ECS), and the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG). Further maintenance is supported on the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area, Wing & Engine Pylon components (including the Engine Inlet/Exhaust and Fan), the AFT Fuselage (AFT Bulkhead and Rear Avionics), and the Tail Section (Vertical and Horizontal Stabilizers). These systems ensure technicians have ideal access for all methodical inspection and servicing tasks.
