620A

The 620A is an American agricultural monoplane produced by Weatherly Aviation. This model is a production variant of the Weatherly 620 series, which was developed as an improved version of the earlier Weatherly 201. The 620A, introduced in 1987, is powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-985 radial engine. The Weatherly 620 aircraft family is renowned for its large chemical hopper capacity, designed to optimize agrochemical application on small-grain crops efficiently and reliably.

Weatherly Aviation Company was formed in California on March 28, 1961, by John C. Weatherly. Initially, the company focused on modifying surplus Fairchild M-62 Cornell military trainers for agricultural purposes. The company later designed and built its own models, including the Weatherly 620, which first flew in 1979. In 1991, John’s nephew, Hal Weatherly, took over the company, moved its operations, and continued the legacy of the 620 series.
