The 56TC Baron is a powerful twin-engine aircraft developed by Beechcraft in response to market competition for light twin-engine models. The aircraft received its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification on May 19, 1967. The production run was notably short, lasting from 1967 to 1969, with only 82 units built. This limited run makes the 56TC Baron a rare and sought-after model today.
Beechcraft was founded in Wichita, Kansas, in 1932 by Walter Beech and his wife, Olive Ann Beech. The company quickly became a leading manufacturer of high-performance civil and military aircraft. Following foundational models like the Model 17 Staggerwing and the wartime Model 18, Beechcraft built a strong reputation for developing enduring and sturdy designs, including the long-running Bonanza and Baron series, from which the 56TC originated.
