The Enstrom 480 is a five-seat civil turboshaft helicopter manufactured by Enstrom Helicopter Corporation. Developed from the Enstrom 280, the 480 was initially conceived for a military training contract, but management pivoted to a commercial version following the first flight in October 1989. Introduced in 1993, the helicopter is powered by the Rolls-Royce Model 250 turboshaft engine. An enhanced variant, the 480B, received certification in 2001 with increased gross weight and power limits. Enstrom Helicopter Corporation has a long history in aviation, producing several popular helicopter models since its founding.
