47G3

The 47G3 is a light, three-seat helicopter, a licensed variant of the foundational Bell 47 series. Bell designed the original series to overcome altitude and temperature restrictions common in non-supercharged reciprocating engine helicopters in the early 1960s. The 47G3 was instrumental as a utility aircraft and trainer. Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) manufactured 239 units of the Bell 47 under license in Japan.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries traces its roots back to 1878 when founder Shozo Kawasaki established a shipyard in Tokyo. The company quickly grew to become a cornerstone of Japan’s modern shipbuilding industry. Over the years, KHI expanded into multiple sectors, including rolling stock, locomotives, and aircraft, establishing itself as a leading name in global heavy industry and engineering.

A wide selection of maintenance access solutions is beneficial for servicing the 47G3. Platforms and stands allow for detailed maintenance of sections like the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit), Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), and General Access to the fuselage. Specialized platforms facilitate maintenance on the AFT Fuselage and the Tail Section (Empennage), including the Vertical Stabiliser and Horizontal Stabiliser. These versatile tools are indispensable for maintaining the airframe and engine components.
