421B

The Cessna 421B, part of the pressurized Golden Eagle series, is a low-wing, twin-engine aircraft developed by Cessna. The 421 model was first produced for the 1968 model year, following its certification on May 1, 1967, and quickly became a popular business transport. The aircraft shares a common type certificate with several other Cessna models, including the 411 and 414.

The 421B variant introduced extra refinements during its production run. Innovative features include improvements to the pressurization system, with the differential rising to 4.2, then 4.4 inches. This model also enlarged the cabin and windows, enhancing passenger comfort. Production of the 421 series ran from 1967 to 1985, with 1,916 units built.

Cessna, the manufacturer, is a foundational name in aviation, responsible for designing and building a wide range of general aviation aircraft. The company’s history is centered on creating reliable and high-performing planes, from single-engine trainers to light twins.

A variety of platforms and access solutions are utilized for maintenance around this aircraft. Access equipment, such as a Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Super Service Stands, are necessary for servicing critical sections. These products provide access for detailed checks on the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna), Forward Fuselage (Main Entry Door, Cargo/Baggage, Cabin Access), and the Landing Gear (NLG/MLG).

Access solutions are indispensable for maintenance on the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box area (Wing Box, Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance, Cabin Interior). For the Wing & Engine Pylon—covering components like the Pylon, Engine Body, and Fuel Tanks/Pumps—a Cantilever Platform or Super Maintenance Platform ensures thorough access. Platforms are also essential for work on the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section (Empennage), including the Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers and Rudder.
