369E

The 369E is a model designation within the light utility helicopter family that originated from the Hughes Helicopters Inc. Model 369, developed in response to a 1961 US Army competition for a light observation helicopter. McDonnell Douglas became the manufacturer of this lineage through corporate transitions. The commercial versions of the helicopter became widely popular in civil and military aviation worldwide.

The MD 500E, which corresponds to the 369E variant, received certification in 1982. This version featured a reprofiled front fuselage and reinforced structural elements. The aircraft is powered by a single Allison 250-C20R turboshaft engine. This family of helicopters has seen over 4,700 units built to date. The aircraft is known for its agility and versatility.
