340B

The Saab 340 is a Swedish twin-engine turboprop designed to seat 30–36 passengers. Developed and initially produced by Saab AB and Fairchild Aircraft, the aircraft first flew on January 25, 1983, and was introduced in 1984. The 340B variant is an upgraded model, notably featuring active noise cancelling introduced with the 340B+ in 1994, which enhanced passenger comfort. Production of the Saab 340 continued from 1983 to 1999, with 459 units built.

Saab, the manufacturer, was founded in Sweden on April 2, 1937, primarily to develop and manufacture combat aircraft, driven by the need for a domestic air force. The company has a long history in Swedish industry, later expanding into regional aircraft like the 340. Saab remains committed to supporting the existing fleet of 340s.

A foundational range of platforms and access solutions supports thorough maintenance across the 340B. These products, including the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stand, provide detailed access to all critical sections. For the Nose Section, these products enable servicing of the radome, antenna, and avionics. Access to the Wing & Engine Pylon is addressed for work on the engine, fan, compressor, and hydraulics. The platforms also facilitate maintenance of the Landing Gear, Forward Fuselage components like the Main Entry Door, and the Tail Section’s vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
