The 3206 is a specific designation within the Jetstream series of regional turboprop aircraft. Its manufacturer, Jetstream Aircraft, traces its origins through British aviation history, ultimately stemming from the development work of the Handley Page Jetstream, which first flew in 1967. After Handley Page went into liquidation, the design was acquired and further developed by Scottish Aviation, and eventually British Aerospace (BAe), becoming known as the BAe Jetstream 31/32 family. This popular commuter aircraft is recognized for its high-wing design, pressurized cabin, and twin turboprop engines, serving civil and military roles globally.
A variety of platforms and access solutions are utilized for detailed maintenance across the 3206. For the Nose Section, solutions support critical access to the Radome, Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, and Bulkhead. The Forward Fuselage, including the Main Entry Door (MED), Cargo/Baggage area, and Environmental Control System (ECS), is accessible using these height platforms. Landing Gear maintenance (Nose and Main) is streamlined, as is work around the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box Area, where technicians access fuel tanks and oil maintenance points. Access solutions also enable thorough inspection of the Wing & Engine Pylon areas, covering the Pylon, Anti-Ice components, and all engine systems including the Fan, Turbine, and Hydraulics. Finally, access solutions support methodical work on the AFT Fuselage sections, such as the AFT Bulkhead and APU Compartments, and the Tail Section (Empennage), including the Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers and Rudder.
