The Cessna 195, a foundational classic aircraft, is part of the 190/195 series, highly regarded for its sturdy airframe and clean design. It was the first model released in this series. Production for the 195 began in July 1947, following prototype models that initially featured a fabric-covered steel tube fuselage.
Cessna, the aircraft’s manufacturer, developed the 190/195 series with excellent design and production quality. The aircraft features a steerable tail wheel for simple ground handling. A notable design element is the engine mount, which swings out completely for easier engine and accessory work without removing the main cowling. The 195 was powered by the Jacobs R-755 engine, which led to a different, shorter cowling compared to the Continental-powered 190 model. The 195 proved to be the base model, with subsequent variations like the 195A and 195B offering refinements until the series production ceased in the fall of 1954.
A variety of access and maintenance solutions are available for this classic aircraft. Reach Deck Platform and Modular Stepover Platforms provide access across various sections, including the Wing Box, Fuel Tanks (Center & Wing), and Oil Maintenance areas within the Middle Fuselage. Super Trestle Scaffold and Super Service Stand facilitate maintenance on the Landing Gear (NLG + MLG), Forward Fuselage sections like Cargo/Baggage, and the Nose Section for Windshield & Cockpit access. Cantilever Platforms are key for reaching the Engine and Wing & Engine Pylon components. Platform ladders and A Frame Platforms are also suitable for routine tasks in the Tail Section, such as accessing the Vertical Stabiliser and Horizontal Stabiliser.
