190A8

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 was a premier single-seat German fighter aircraft flown by the Luftwaffe during World War II. The Fw 190 was highly regarded and introduced operationally over France in August 1941, quickly proving superior to the primary Royal Air Force fighter at low and medium altitudes. German pilots noted its greater firepower and superior maneuverability compared to the Bf 109 at those altitudes.

FOCKE – WULF, the manufacturer, was an essential German aerospace company. Its lineage includes the development of numerous foundational aircraft. The Fw 190A series, in particular, was one of the many successful variants built between 1941 and 1945. The A-8 variant was heavily produced and saw extensive combat service, cementing its reputation as one of the war’s best fighter planes. The design later evolved into the Focke-Wulf Ta 152.
