The Cessna 185 Skywagon is a light utility aircraft, introduced in 1961 as a more powerful development of the popular Cessna 180. Manufactured by the Cessna Aircraft Company, the 185 first flew in July 1960. It features a high wing and non-retractable conventional landing gear with a tailwheel, earning a reputation as a sturdy, powerful single-engine aircraft capable of handling heavy loads in diverse, off-airport environments. Production continued from 1961 until 1985, with 3,916 units built, confirming its foundational role in utility aviation. The most popular variant, the A185F, was often equipped with the 300 hp Continental IO-520D engine, giving it superior performance.
