177

The Cessna 177 Cardinal was designed in the mid-1960s to be a futuristic successor to the renowned Cessna 172. Introduced in 1968, the Cardinal featured a cantilever wing and a distinctive, all-moving horizontal stabilizer, differentiating it from Cessna’s traditional strut-braced designs. The Model 177 became known for its smooth, fast flight characteristics.

Cessna, the manufacturer of the Cardinal, is a foundational name in aviation history. Established by Clyde Cessna, the company became one of the “Big Three” aircraft manufacturers in the post-World War II era, specializing in general aviation aircraft. Cessna built its reputation on reliable, high-volume production of popular models like the 172 Skyhawk, the most-produced airplane in history.

To service and maintain the 177, a range of specialized access platforms are necessary. These solutions support maintenance across all critical areas of the aircraft, including the Nose Section (for avionics and the windshield), the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), and the Wing and Engine Pylon areas (addressing engine access, hydraulics, and fuel systems). Platforms are also utilized for maintenance on the AFT Fuselage, including rear avionics and bulkheads, and the entire Tail Section, ensuring full access to the vertical and horizontal stabilizers. These sturdy, purpose-built platforms are indispensable for detailed maintenance across the airframe.
