175

The Cessna 175, often marketed as the Skylark, is a light utility aircraft introduced by the Cessna Aircraft Company in 1958. Designed as an intermediate aircraft positioned between the foundational Cessna 172 and the larger Cessna 182, the 175 offered increased horsepower. Production ran from 1958 until 1962, with over 2,100 units built. While the airframe is nearly identical and many parts are interchangeable with the 172, the 175 received its own type certificate. Declining sales, primarily due to reputedly poor engine reliability, led to the discontinuation of the 175 and Skylark names, but the underlying design continued in variants of the 172 and the T-41 Mescalero military trainer.
