11AC

The Aeronca 11AC Chief is a light aircraft featuring side-by-side two-seat configuration and fixed conventional landing gear. Designed by Raymond F. Hermes, the aircraft entered production in the United States in 1945, with manufacturing occurring between 1946 and 1950. The 11AC Chief was part of the Aeronca Chief family, known for its gentle flying characteristics, positioning it as a step up from the tandem-seat Aeronca Champion used for flight training. Approximately 1,867 units of the 11AC variant were built during this period.

Aeronca, established in 1928, was one of the earliest and most prolific U.S. aircraft manufacturers of general aviation aircraft. The company was influential in developing accessible personal aircraft, especially during the post-World War II aviation boom, when the 11AC Chief was produced alongside the Champion.
