The 112TCA, also known as the Alpine Commander, is a turbocharged variant of the Rockwell Commander 112, introduced in 1978. It was engineered to enhance high-altitude performance, offering a higher payload capacity and increased maximum takeoff weight (MTOW), making it ideal for flying in mountainous regions. A total of 160 units of the 112TCA were produced.
The aircraft was manufactured by Rockwell International, a foundational American aerospace corporation. Rockwell’s involvement in general aviation began in 1958 when it acquired Aero Commander. The company produced the Commander 112/114 series from 1972 until 1980, before selling the design rights.
