Wren Aircraft

Wren Aircraft Company was an American manufacturer established in the 1960s, known primarily for aircraft modifications aimed at improving short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance.

The organization’s single most well-known product was the Wren 460, which was a STOL conversion of the Cessna 182. The Wren 460 featured a high-lift wing modification, full-span double-slotted flaps, and a distinctive downturned nose control surface (a canard) for enhanced low-speed handling.

Wren Aircraft ceased operations in the late 1960s, and the design and tooling were eventually acquired by Robertson Aircraft Corporation. Therefore, Wren Aircraft has no well-known current products, and its historical legacy is centered entirely on the innovative STOL conversion, the Wren 460.
