Sud - Aviation S N C A

Sud Aviation was a French state-owned aircraft manufacturer formed in 1957 from the merger of Sud-Est Aviation and Sud-Ouest Aviation. It is most famous for its historical products, particularly the Caravelle, one of the world’s first jet airliners, and its participation in the development of the Concorde supersonic transport in partnership with the British Aircraft Corporation. Other significant historical aircraft and helicopters include the Vautour, Alouette II, Alouette III, Super Frelon, Puma, and Gazelle. The organization was merged with Nord Aviation and SEREB in 1970 to form Aérospatiale, meaning it has no current products under the Sud Aviation name.
