Sikorsky

Sikorsky is an American aircraft manufacturer, originally founded by Igor Sikorsky in 1923, and currently a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin. It is one of the world’s most renowned manufacturers of helicopters.

Current well-known products include the UH-60 Black Hawk series (utility and transport helicopter), the S-92 (medium-lift utility and passenger helicopter), and the CH-53K King Stallion (heavy-lift cargo helicopter).

Historically, Sikorsky is famous for pioneering the design and production of practical helicopters, with notable historical products including the R-4 (the first production helicopter), the S-58/H-34 Choctaw (used extensively in the 1950s and 60s), and the H-3 Sea King (a twin-engine anti-submarine warfare helicopter). The company also developed fixed-wing aircraft early on, such as the S-42 Clipper flying boat.
