Schweizer Aircraft

Schweizer Aircraft Corporation was an American manufacturer known for its sailplanes and helicopters. Historically, they were famous for their line of gliders, such as the SGU 2-22 and the 1-26, which were foundational in American soaring. Later, Schweizer became well-known for the 300 series of light utility helicopters, originally designed by Hughes, including the 300CBi training helicopter and the 333 turbine-powered version. In 2004, Schweizer was acquired by Sikorsky Aircraft, and the helicopter line continued to be produced until around 2012. After various organizational changes, the company was re-established as Schweizer RSG in 2018, focusing on modernizing and manufacturing the Model 300 series helicopters (like the S300C and S300CBi) for training and utility roles.
