Ryan Aeronautical

Ryan Aeronautical was an American aircraft manufacturer founded by Claude Ryan. The company is historically significant for its military trainers, particularly during World War II, and its role in the postwar development of aviation technology. A famous historical product is the Ryan NYP “Spirit of St. Louis,” flown by Charles Lindbergh. In later years, the company focused on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones. Ryan Aeronautical was acquired and integrated into larger entities, such as Teledyne and then Northrop Grumman, marking its transition from an independent manufacturer to part of a major aerospace and defense corporation.
