Republic Aviation

Republic Aviation Corporation was a prominent American aircraft manufacturer, active from the 1930s through the 1960s, primarily known for its military aircraft. While the company is no longer operational, it has no current products. Historically, its most famous products were rugged and powerful fighter aircraft. Key historical products include the P-47 Thunderbolt, a highly successful fighter-bomber of World War II, the F-84 Thunderjet (a first-generation jet fighter), the swept-wing F-84F Thunderstreak, and the F-105 Thunderchief, a supersonic fighter-bomber used extensively during the Vietnam War. Republic Aviation was acquired by Fairchild Hiller in 1965.
