North American

North American Aviation (NAA), founded in 1928, began as a holding company before becoming a major US aerospace manufacturer after 1934. The company merged into North American Rockwell in 1967, which later became Rockwell International and is now part of Boeing.

Today, NAA itself does not have current products; its legacy and product lines are continued under Boeing and its heritage.

Historically, NAA was responsible for numerous iconic aircraft and spacecraft, including: the T-6 Texan trainer, the P-51 Mustang fighter, the B-25 Mitchell bomber, the F-86 Sabre jet fighter, and the X-15 rocket plane. NAA was also a key contributor to space exploration, developing the Apollo Command and Service Module, the second stage of the Saturn V rocket, and the Space Shuttle orbiter.
