Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing

Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing Company (NAMC), based in Nanchang, China, has historically been a significant producer of military and civil aircraft. The company is known for its large size, operating on a 500-hectare site with a substantial workforce.

Historically, NAMC is most famous for the **Nanchang CJ-6**, a widely used piston-powered trainer aircraft (a derivative of the Yak-18) that has been in service for decades. They also manufactured the **Q-5 (Fantan)**, a single-seat, twin-engine attack aircraft.

While much of the company’s current activity is non-aerospace, its well-known current products include modern variants or support for its legacy military trainers and the prototype NLA AC-500 Aircar.
