Mil

MIL, officially the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant (part of Russian Helicopters), is a renowned Russian design bureau specializing in the development and production of military and civil helicopters. The organization was founded by Mikhail Mil in 1947.

Its most famous product is the Mi-8 series (NATO reporting name “Hip”), the world’s most-produced helicopter, known for its versatility in transport, utility, and combat roles.

Well-known current products include modern variants of the Mi-8/Mi-17 family, the heavy-lift Mi-26 “Halo,” and attack helicopters like the Mi-28 “Havoc” and the Mi-35M (export variant of the Mi-24). Historical products include the Mi-1, Mi-4, and the Mi-24 “Hind” attack helicopter.
