Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI) is a major Japanese global technology and engineering company operating across diverse sectors. KHI manufactures a wide range of products for Mobility, Energy & Environment, Industrial Equipment, and Leisure.

Current well-known products include Gas Turbines, Industrial Robots, hydraulic components, the Jet Ski watercraft line, and aerospace systems such as aircraft and aircraft engines.

Historically, KHI began manufacturing airplanes in 1918 and developed Japan’s first production helicopter (the Kawasaki-Bell 47D-1) in 1954. The company also pioneered the development of motorcycle engines (c. 1949) and introduced the first Japanese-made industrial robot (the Kawasaki-Unimate 2000) in 1969.
