General Dynamics is a global aerospace and defense company headquartered in Reston, Virginia. It is organized into four main business groups: Aerospace (Gulfstream business jets, Jet Aviation), Marine Systems (nuclear submarines, combat ships/auxiliary ships via Electric Boat and NASSCO), Combat Systems (wheeled combat vehicles like the M1 Abrams, LAV 25, Stryker, and ammunition), and Technologies (IT and C4ISR solutions, communications systems). Historically, General Dynamics has been involved in aircraft like the F-111 and owned companies such as Canadair and Convair, but these were largely divested in the 1990s.
