Erco

Engineering and Research Corporation (ERCO) was founded in 1930 by Henry Berliner. ERCO is best known historically for developing the Ercoupe, its first product, which was notable as the first production aircraft with a tricycle landing gear. The Ercoupe was designed by Fred Weick. While the company’s aerospace manufacturing focused primarily on the Ercoupe and its variations in the mid-20th century, the company diversified into other industries. Modern-day operations and current products are less prominent in the general aerospace sector compared to the historical significance of the Ercoupe.
