Eidgen O Ssisches Flugzeugwerk

Eidgenössisches Flugzeugwerk (F+W), or the Swiss Federal Aircraft Factory, was the official design, development, and manufacturing facility for the Swiss Air Force and Swiss Army. F+W focused primarily on licensed production, maintenance, and modification of foreign designs for Swiss use. They are historically known for the license production of aircraft like the de Havilland Vampire and Venom jet fighters, and the Dassault Mirage III. They also developed a few indigenous designs, most notably the N-20 Aiguillon jet fighter project and the C-36 series of multi-purpose aircraft. The organization ceased to exist under this name following the restructuring of Switzerland’s defense industries.
