Dornier

Dornier was a historic German aircraft manufacturer founded in 1922 by Claudius Dornier, an aeronautical expert. The company achieved many significant milestones before its closure in 2002.

Current Products: The original Dornier company does not produce current well-known products as it was closed in 2002. However, some aircraft designs, like the Dornier 228, have continued under other companies (e.g., General Atomics’ successor company).

Historical Products: Dornier is renowned for its achievements in aviation, especially seaplanes. Key historical products include the Dornier Wal (a seaplane from 1922), the military seaplanes Do 26 and Do 18 (used by the Luftwaffe), and the Do 335 twin-engine fighter (known as the fastest aircraft in its category at the time and the first to install an ejector seat). Later products included short-haul propeller-driven aircraft like the Do 228 and Do 328.
