Alenia Aeronautica

Alenia Aeronautica was an Italian aerospace company, formerly a division of Finmeccanica (now Leonardo S.p.A.). While Alenia Aeronautica no longer exists as a separate entity, its legacy continues under Leonardo’s Aircraft Division. Well-known recent products include major contributions to the Eurofighter Typhoon and components for commercial aircraft programs like the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A380. Historically, Alenia was known for aircraft like the C-27J Spartan transport aircraft (now part of Leonardo’s portfolio) and its involvement in the development of military jets and transport planes, representing a significant part of Italy’s aerospace industrial base.
