Alenia

Alenia Aeronautica was a major Italian aerospace company, formerly a division of Finmeccanica (now Leonardo S.p.A.). While the name Alenia Aeronautica no longer exists as a separate entity, its legacy continues under Leonardo, particularly through its involvement in military transport and trainer aircraft.

Well-known products include the C-27J Spartan military transport aircraft and regional turboprop airliners like the ATR 42 and ATR 72 (through the ATR joint venture). The Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Master jet trainer is another key product from the former Alenia group. Historically, Alenia and its predecessors played a significant role in Italian and European aircraft manufacturing across defense and commercial sectors.
