Aermacchi SPA

Aermacchi was an Italian aircraft manufacturer established on the shores of Lake Varese, initially known for Nieuport designs and racing seaplanes like the Macchi M.39 and M.52 of the Schneider Trophy races. After WWII, they produced utility and training aircraft, notably the successful Aermacchi MB-326 trainer/light attack aircraft (1957).

The company evolved into Alenia Aermacchi (now part of Leonardo S.p.A.). Its modern legacy includes key military trainers and transports: current well-known products are the Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Master advanced jet trainer, the M-345 trainer, and the Alenia C-27J Spartan transport aircraft.
