Product Description

The Ultimate C-130 Docking System for Maintenance and Refurbishment

The Lockheed Martin C-130 Docking System improves heavy-duty refurbishment and maintenance access for the Hercules C130 fleet. This integrated system provides paramount safety, efficiency, and adaptability across all critical aircraft areas. It offers full encapsulation and secure working decks, thoughtfully designed to conform to the unique contours of the C-130, including variants like the C-130H and C-130J.

Constructed from heavy-duty steel base platforms and structural aluminum custom mobile platforms, the C-130 Docking System delivers stable and safe access to every zone needing inspection, repair, or modification. The modular design ensures the entire structure can be efficiently containerized and moved to new base locations or deployed quickly for maintenance operations worldwide. This supports our value of efficiency.

Enhanced Access and Encapsulation with the C-130 Docking System

Access to the nose and leading edge of the wing surfaces uses dedicated mobile aluminum docking sections. This mobile docking fully encapsulates the forward section, providing a complete and secure workspace. Innovative features include removable sections along the propeller line in the leading edge wing dock. This allows stands to remain in place when propellers are installed and provides a continuous, complete working deck when propellers are removed. This specific design is indispensable for maintaining the propulsion system without removing the entire access platform.

Sliding Platforms for Close Fuselage Access

For the main fuselage and wing surfaces, custom-designed aluminum platforms encapsulate the aircraft. These are supported by Proscaf scaffold and clear span truss beams, allowing use even in confined spaces. A unique sliding platform system is integrated for close access to the fuselage. Maintenance personnel can slide panels along the inside edge to close gaps between the platform and the aircraft body, maximizing safety and reach. Foam rubber buffering is strategically placed along the inside edges of the C-130 Docking System to prevent any aircraft damage during use. Safety is always first.

Fixed and Mobile C-130 Docking System Components

The system incorporates both fixed and mobile docking sections to maximize utility. Mobile scaffolding provides cost-effective and flexible access specifically to the wing surfaces. Tail cargo access uses mobile tail cargo access stands, allowing the docking configuration to be simply adjusted for various C-130 variants, ensuring unrestricted entry and work area for the cargo bay.

Optimized Workspace and Storage within the C-130 Docking System

Underneath the primary working deck, the structure smartly doubles as a functional workspace for engineers and storage for parts, significantly enhancing workflow efficiency. The work environment is further optimized with integrated lighting, power, and compressed air outlets distributed across the docking platforms, maximizing space usability for maintenance tasks.

Safety and accessibility are paramount. Large, safe stair access leads to the working deck. The fixed docking section includes sliders in the leading edge that move back to reveal lower decks. These lower decks are specifically suitable for C-130 aircraft equipped with long-range fuel tanks, ensuring access to otherwise obstructed areas. The design also accounts for the necessary apertures required for aircraft jacks, ensuring the C-130 Docking System does not impede foundational structural support procedures.

The unique and configurable nature of this system—including removable nose docks and sliders—ensures it can be disassembled for redeployment or reconfigured to meet evolving maintenance requirements, providing a long-term, versatile solution for the upkeep of the Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules airframe. The ability to separate the aluminum nose and leading edge wing docking into sections also aids in efficient storage when not in use. This C-130 Docking System is a powerful asset for aircraft serviceability.
