VH-60N Whitehawk

The VH-60N Whitehawk is a highly specialized variant of the Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk military helicopter. This twin-engine aircraft is configured for VIP transport, notably serving as one of the helicopters used for the President of the United States, known by the call sign Marine One. It was inducted into service in 1988, transforming a proven utility design into a sophisticated executive platform.

Sikorsky, the manufacturer, has a rich manufacturing history that is foundational to rotary-wing aviation. Founded by Igor Sikorsky, the company pioneered the first successful American helicopter, the VS-300, in 1939. Since then, Sikorsky has developed some of the world’s most enduring aircraft, including the Blackhawk series from which the VH-60N is derived. This lineage establishes the manufacturer as an indispensable leader in engineering and delivering high-performance aircraft for critical national missions.
